PhD Mats Persson shows findings confirming the importance of health during first years of life on health later in life
That health during the first years of life have an impact on the risk of taking sick leave later in life, is shown by Ph.D. Mats Persson and his colleague Jonas Helgertz in an article in Social Science & Medicine, which is part of Persson's recently published doctoral thesis. Also when including compensating factors such as higher education and income levels does this link persist. Persson recommends the use of preventive measures at an early age in order to avoid this, in particular among more vulnerable social groups.
