SEDD Public Access Extration
Data from the Scanian Economic Demographic Database is now publicly accessible. The dataset is a longitudinal economic and demographic dataset containing all individuals living in five parishes in southern Sweden for the period 1813 to 1914. The current version is the 4.0-version, and all comments and suggestions regarding the data and the use of the database are most welcome.
The data has been collected, digitized and developed during several decades and the work has been financed by the Centre for Economic Demography, Lund University and the Swedish Research Council (Vetenskapsrådet). In order for us to report on the use of the data we need basic information on users and purposes.
Thus, in order to access data you need to send an e-mail request to firstname.lastname@example.org. The request should contain your name, title, affiliation and a short abstract describing what you intend to use the data for (c. 50-100 words). In return you will receive the full dataset in text-format, the variable list, and some general information concerning the use of the data. We also provide STATA do-files to facilitate the use of the SEDD-data. The size of the zip-file is around 35 MB.
Terms and conditions for the use of the data can be found below.
